Ashwin Desai: 1940-1950
My uncle RAJASAHAB RAJENDRASINGH JADHAV of Deulgaonraja, Buldhana Dist. was a Dalyan (1940-1950),when only the Royals were allowed. He regaled us with humourous anecdotes of the school. Some of them are:
1.At lunch some boys emptied their 1st course under the table because it was always veg.&the 2nd n.veg...which would be devoured in no time.Mr Sharma the then H.Master had set the rule.
2.My uncle won the 1st prize for "DIPAWALI" in hindi & how....class 7th, 37 pgs ..no spelling mistakes...winning by 1/4 mark from the the runner-up. (Unthinkable in todays world ).
3.Mr Marchant, the then Principal was a disciplanarian par excellence...he taught Geography & Math ...2 subjects uncle always was no.1 in.
4.Uncle was brilliant ...he was double promoted thrice !!
5.Mr Miller the next Pricipal was afootball fan so much so even the slightest of drizzles & he would declare a holiday...urging the boys to play football !
6.During summer holidays my aunts would swim in the Daly pool...all because Mr Sharma was close family friend !!
7.His close pals were Prince Prabir of Bastar & Thakur Prithvisingh Deo of Dotria....&many more Nawabs,Maharajas.....
8.He taught Mr Kate ,Prncipal, Hindi...in return he was taught Marathi !!
So on your 150th I'm sure the old boys must be in high spirits,in spirit, toasting to Daly College...on one of the playgrounds.
Cheers & God Bless & Good Luck

I was in Daly College from 1960 to 1969 and would love to hear from old freinds. Of course I visit Indore once a year and am in touch with Ramesh Nagrath, Manvendar Singh Barwani, Tripureshwar,Shiladitya Singh Narsingarh, Sidi Shah Janjira,Santosh Mahalaha, Gautam Kasbekar, Suhas etc.
Ten years ago we were trying to open a ODA US Chapter and or a ODA overseas chapter. For some reason it never happenned or else I did not hear about it. I know there are several Dalians settled in the USA. I would love to re-start this process and see if we can organize a get together at a convenient location. Any interest- please post an email.
With best wishes to the past and present Dalians, teachers and staff of Daly college.
Sincerely,
Santosh Naik

Ranjan Sonalkar--- Class of 66
Soon to be four decades since HS graduation. But I guess it is never too late. I had discovered this blog few weeks ago, but had neglected to post. But then I got contacted from a classmate with whom I always wanted to get in touch and so that tipped me to blog too.
It is needless to add that I too have fond memories of the years, 7 to be exact, that I spent there between the 5 th and 11th grades. I visited DC for the first time in 40 years last August and enjoyed the visit tremendously. The current Principal Kanwar Sumer Singh is dynamic and should do well to put the school on the national map of great schools, where it rightfully deserves to be.
I have lived in the US for the last 35 years ever since I came here after IIT and did my Masters and PhD. I would love to get back in touch with all my classmates of the class of 66. I am in at least email contact with Pankaj Pani, Ashok Agrawal, Praveen Mathur, Sumer Singh and Atmaram Singh.
DC's 125th anniversary is coming up and maybe there will be some big celebration to give everyone an incentive to visit there at that time.
My email is Sonalkar@optonline.net .

Sunil Tiwari - Class of '67
This is Sunil Tiwari from the class of '67. I spent 10 years at Daly College from 1957-67 and have lots of fond memories from the old days.
I am currently living and working in Burlington, Ontario, Canada but have been in Canada since 1975. I work for Gennum Corporation as the Senior Account Manager for the Asia Pacific Region and travel extensively all over Asia . I have 3 children (2 daughters and a son) and my oldest daughter just got married last June. My second daughter is working as a graphic designer in Atlanta, Georgia and my son will graduate this summer and join the law enforcement agency in Ontario .
Two other old Dalians (in Canada) that I still keep in touch with are Dr. Sudhir Patel and Harpal Singh Benawara. In fact Harpal lives only 25 minutes away from where I am and so we see each other quite often. I haven't spoken to Sudhir in a while as he lives approximately 80 Km's away on the other side of Toronto .
Other old Dalians that I have exchanged emails with or talked to on the phone in the last few years are Ranjan Sonalkar (USA) and Imroze Chowdhary ( Canada ). It is unfortunate that I have lost touch with my own class fellows but would love to hear from them. Creation of this blog site is an excellent idea and I hope to see many more contacts soon. As a matter of interest, I am traveling to Indore next month (Feb 12th – 22nd) and will certainly visit DC. When I last visited Indore in 1997, I met a number of old friends – Gajendra Singh Ranawat (Gajju), Narendra Singh Bidwal (Biddu), Ratan Singh Bidwal (Ratan), Dilip Singh Jobat (Prince) and of course Digvijay Singh Raghogarh (Raja) and I hope to be able to meet them all again although it is a very short visit.
Looking forward to hearing from old friends soon.
